I SmileJust because I am smiling, it does not mean I am happy

I smile when the sun burns my eyes
I smile when I begin to cry
I smile to mask my pain
I smile to hide my shame

I smile, though I am not happy

I smile to greet, when I'd rather be alone
I smile in a crowd, though I stand alone
I smile when you ask me if I'm okay
I simply smile to make you go away

Just because I am smiling, it does not mean I am happy

Would Anyone Choose MeWould Anyone Choose Me?

As we split into pairs
I fall in despair
when I see that I'm alone

The children go out
scream and shout
as i sit in the corner and moan

I hold my knees
and beg and plead
for a pair to call my own

But sadly for me
no one can see
the loneliness, I have not shown

They laugh and play
and swing very gay
and take a look at me

Then they frown and sigh
then shift their eyes
and pretend they cannot see
For who would put up
and even think up
kindly choosing me

Over their wonderful pair
with whom they share
everything they posses

Like books and marks
Hats and scarves
and even their Sunday dress

A King With No CrownThe king I used to be
Perished long ago
When my crown was ripped from my skull
And my laws torn from the throne.

Now I'm just a tramp
Forever wandering in this abyss
Virtues I once held to my name have gone away
First entirely forsaken, now forever forgotten.

smiling eyes.dear you and i,

we sit so close, but yet so far
and i fidget wildly in my seat
waiting for you and your emerald stares
to set my heart on a love-struck beat

framed with lashes of angel-hair
your gray green eyes read like a book
and page by page i work to decipher
the detailed translation of your every look

but the more i try, the less i learn
and i'm lost in a sea of thought or truth
yet just when i think i've figured you out
your eyes sing old while retaining their youth

in fact, there's something about you that's strange
something otherworldly in that perfect gaze
hidden galaxies in your crinkling corneas
and sighing stars t

Beneath The MaskYou wanna know why I stand as tall as I do?
Why I look so proud?
Why I have this stupid mask up?
Why, even with all that, I look away when you look me in the eyes?

Because I don't want you to see the real me.
Because I don't want you to know how much I actually slouch.
I don't want you to see how ashamed I am.
I don't want you to see how broken I am underneath all this painted happiness.
Because you don't need to know all that I'm hiding,

Behind those eyes.

No matter how many times you ask,
I will not show you what's behind this mask.
I will not show you how unsure of myself I am,
How unconfident I am.
I will not show you the te

What Am I ?I am a demon, or at least by definition.
I'm evil.
I'm outcasted.
And all around fake

Someone always greater
Than me. While in my presence
Hated by many.
Loved by one...myself.

I'll consume your soul
I will steal away your life

Yes, I am a demon.
Yet .... I'm all alone

Music to MeMusic to Me
Music is a part of me
It is my soul
It is my heartbeat
My every breath
My entire life

Music helps me live
My days move on
It is my adrenaline
It helps me get away
When all I need is a break

It gives me a light in the dark
A getaway
It is my shield from the outside world
And its evil
It keeps me sane

Music is my happiness
The notes like the breeze on my face
The sound is like the heartbeat of my soul
Music is a part of me
Music to me…

Is life

it's simply a maskI smiled every time I was around them.
I laughed at their jokes, their actions, heck I just laughed.
I would put on a show for them, and a good one at that.
Grinning, commenting, and chuckling;
When all I really wanted to do,
Was hide in a corner to rot away.

Did they really believe it?

My fake presence of joy,
The light atmosphere,
All of it; it was only a mask.

Everyone around me seemed unaffected.
They looked past me as if nothing was wrong.
I gave that impression after all, didn't I?
But they were wrong, terribly wrong.

I was falling apart, ripping myself to shreds from the inside.

If someone were to ask, "What's wrong?"

The Monster WithinI can feel it lurking
I can feel it lurking inside of me

I can feel it trying to escape

I can feel it trying to take over
I can feel it grow stronger

Every day, every little thing that goes wrong makes it stronger
Every day I grow more violent
Every day I grow more unstable

Every day it grows more powerful and deadly

I can feel it raking its razor sharp claws against my chest
I can feel it trying to rip me open and escape

I can feel it coming

I cant escape this
I cant escape who I really am

I try to suppress it
I try to suppress who I really am and put on a mask of deceit

But I cant

I cant just try and force my true self dow

HiddenI sit here alone
I don't want people with me
There is no one here
Except me and the sea

People don't understand
Or they just do not care
No one looks at the person within

Or if you let people close
They hurt you, they bind you
If you let them pierce your thick skin

My hair shrouds my face
Hiding tears, hiding hurt
If you try, I will not let you in

My world is so dark
So perilous and cold
To admit you would be almost a sin

There is bitterness inside me
So much hate; so much pain
Not a person must find it
Let them think me insane

To stay alone here
Isolated in the storm
Is not exactly normal
But I do not wish to conform

DystopicHe's been thrown into the wall
He never rose enough to fall
And with a wish that someone would hear his calls
He tries to feign a smile but his eyes tell it all.
They pulsate with sadness and glimmer with hope
His smile hides everything that he's trying to cope
With all alone without any sort of help
And he can't remember the last time he's even felt like himself
It's like his body is over here and his soul is over there
And his mind is all alone as his heart flies through the air
He knows it's all a facade, and that someday they'll find out
And that it'll be a day of relentless torments and shouts
But by then he hopes that this'l

DeadThere is no flame inside of me,
I'm only a hollowed-out shell.
So please don't try to ignite a spark,
I'll only burn in Hell.

WearinessFinally,it's safe to break
I no longer have to fake
That I'm happy

Finally,I can be
A complete mess
With slumped shoulders and miserable crying
I can stop with all the lying
Did I really think that I was dying?
I just needed to hide away for a while
And reenter the world with a tearstained smile

We artists,

we're a little bit crazy.

You gotta be a little bit crazy

to strive for a career that pays less than minimum wage.

Yeah, we strive, all right.

But not for the money.

God, if it was for the money,

we'd sit on our fat behinds all day and never lift a finger

or a pencil.

Because, even if we did write the greatest story of all time

or draw the loveliest painting ever drawn

or film the most amazing movie ever made,

we still might not make much off of it.

So we ignore the money.

Yeah,

we're definitely crazy.

So,
